Lanai Expansion Project

Before: Upper lanais 5’ wide, lower lanais 8’ wide

After: upper and lower lanais 10’ wide

The owners of 8 units in the Glades Country Club, Naples, FL, worked with KEG to design and oversee the construction of the extension of the their upper lanais. KEG’s Structural Design Group worked with the owners to design the extensions in a manner that would enhance the livability of the lanais and blend aesthetically with the surrounding buildings. One previous attempt by an unknown engineer/contractor was poorly done with cracking slabs and rusting steel support columns. KEG’s design used the original slab width with new cast-in-place support columns and beams tied to the structure and new footings at the outer perimeter that are in conformance with the current Florida Building Code.

KEG also worked with the owners during the selection of the contractor and provided construction inspections during the project.
